1. It was used data contained in documentation [1] to simulate neutron and gamma spectra of Cf-252 source.
According to the documentation the activity of Cf-252 relatively to emission of gamma-rays and neutrons is A(n) = 0.177 A(gamma)
The total number of verteces generated were 100,000 (i.e. A(n)+A(gamma) = 100,000).
Maybe this picture is more appropriate:
Now let's throw that spectrum on 1.11 cm plate of lead (the thickness is like the thickness of lead container for Cf-252 source):
