Possible approaches

  1. We propose to complement a high intensity neutron source with a modern controls and instrumentation infrastructure to be used as both a user facility and a practical instruction apparatus for students in nuclear physics fields
  2. We propose to establish the infrastructure needed for a modern instrumentation and controls laboratory that will attract and instruct students in the methods used for nuclear physics applications. The laboratory will have a classroom component used to teach students in a focused approach and an application component where the students will apply the techniques in the problem solving environment of a research facility.
  3. We propose to establish the infrastructure needed for a modern instrumentation and controls laboratory that will attract and instruct students in the methods used for nuclear physics applications. The laboratory will be used for hands on training of personnel to serve the nuclear power fleet for the next generation. The focus will be on real time monitors using modern digital equipment and will not focus on control systems which remain analog systems for security reasons.
