We propose to establish the infrastructure needed for a modern instrumentation and controls laboratory to attract and instruct students in the methods used for nuclear physics applications. The laboratory will have a classroom component used to teach students in a focused approach and an application component where the students will apply the techniques in the problem solving environement of a research facility.
