I am writing to request a support letter of a very unusual kind, the one given to US immigration officials in support of my application to US permanent residency (also known as a green card).
I wish to stress that in many ways the letter is different from the ordinary job letter, as it is intended for USCIS (=US Citizenship and Immigration Services) officers. Needless to say, this is very important for me, and I would greatly appreciate if you kindly agree to write the letter.
